Keeping an aquarium using the Xepta Reef Balance System
Maintaining an Aquarium with Fish and Corals Using the Xepta Reef Balance System
For those seeking comprehensive and straightforward control over all aquarium parameters, our balanced system stands out as the optimal choice. Achieving conditions akin to the natural marine environment becomes simple with this system, promoting extraordinary colors in corals within a nutrient-limited environment. This is particularly crucial, as even with the best coral products on the market, a high nutrient load in the aquarium can favor the growth of zooxanthellae, resulting in brownish and dull colors in corals. Correct use of Xepta Reef Bac and Xepta Reef NP-Out (if necessary) is emphasized, as outlined in the first section.
Implementing the balanced system is a straightforward process, following these steps:
- Establish a baseline (Day 0) by measuring calcium, carbonate, and magnesium in the aquarium. Refrain from adding anything or performing water changes.
- After 7 days, measure calcium, carbonate, and magnesium again to determine weekly consumption. For high consumptions, measure and analyze values the following day to understand daily consumption.
- Calculate the necessary dose based on weekly consumption.
- During the initial weeks, regularly measure calcium, carbonate, and magnesium to fine-tune the initial dose.
Practical Example:
For a 100-liter aquarium, initial measurements yield:
- Ca: 420ppm
- Kh: 8.5
- Mg: 1320ppm
After 7 days:
- Ca: 400ppm
- Kh: 6
- Mg: 1290ppm
Weekly consumption:
- Ca: 20ppm
- Kh: 2.5
- Mg: 30ppm
Calculation of dosages:
- Ca Part: Add 33ml per week
- Kh Part: Add 87.5ml per week
- Trace Part: Add the same amount as Ca Part
Adjust Mg levels as needed, withholding or adding Mg+ accordingly.
To ensure comprehensive coral nutrition, supplement with Xepta Reef Coral Food and Xepta Reef Aminovit at doses of 1-2 drops daily per 100 liters of aquarium water. This promotes enhanced health, growth, and vibrant coloration in corals.
With a good skimmer, proper recirculation, and adequate lighting, corals in our aquariums can thrive, displaying unprecedented colors and robust health.
