Ionic balance in aquarium maintenance

The key to emulate the marine environment

In contemporary aquarium maintenance, various methods are employed based on the type and volume of the aquarium. Our balanced system offers a straightforward and efficient approach to supplying all essential elements for the proper growth, development, and coloration of corals. The objective of this system is to align the aquarium’s conditions with those naturally present in the marine environment.

Despite the advantages of a balanced system, there are instances where specific products become necessary due to the characteristics of the aquarium or user preferences regarding equipment. In any aquarium, external factors such as filtration equipment, skimmers, and the replacement of evaporated water can introduce challenges in replicating conditions found in the natural marine environment. Consequently, minor ionic imbalances may persist. These imbalances can be easily rectified through regular water changes, typically performed on a weekly or biweekly basis, involving 10-20% of the aquarium’s water volume.

To address this need, we have developed Xepta Balanced Reef Salt, a well-balanced salt formulated in individual doses to prepare 25 liters of saltwater consistently. This ensures a constant and uniform chemical composition for optimal aquarium health.
