Inconsistent water sample

KH results may fluctuate if the area where water In tube collects the aquarium sample is inconsistent

Many problems of KH swings have been solved by changing the position of where water in collects the sample.

Sometimes there are areas of the aquarium with more bubbles than others, or where substances can concentrate and alter the results of the analysis, because they are dosing areas, or there is a system that alters the KH at certain times. If this is your case, we recommend that you change the place where the water in takes the sample.

If despite the change they continue to oscillate, we recommend that you do a “stable” test, to see if is the problem is the sample or is not.

Stable test:

  1. Take 3/4 liters of water from the aquarium and fill a container with it. Place it next to the autoBalance.
  2. Place the Water In end in the container. The line must go straight to the autoBalance.
  3. Calibrate the Water In pump and enter the new length of the tube into settings.
  4. Program the autoBalance to perform several analyses.

Although you may see some variability in the results, they will be within a normal range and respond to variations in the sample and the error margins inherent in the pumps and pH probe. If, on the other hand, there are still “jumps” in the results, the problem is not the Water In. Check the rest of the articles in this section.

Very important: G1 Water In and Water Out pumps are friction pumps, (Kamoer & Cinyar) the rollers of the heads should never be lubricated, nor any other part of the pump head, since they would lose their capacity to transmit the movement.
